My name is Damon, and I’m the owner/operator of Nomads Dog Walking and Pet Services. Nomads is partnered with Daylight Dogs, and I work exclusively on Vancouver’s North Shore, taking dogs for group and private walks on all the beautiful trails we are blessed with in this area.
I have been a commercial dog walker since 2021. I had just completed a later-in-life degree in Anthropology from the University of Manitoba, and was preparing for a very different career. I applied for a job during Covid that allowed me to work outside. Walking dogs didn’t feel like a job, and I quickly fell in love with the industry, the people, and the dogs – and never looked back to my area of study!
Shortly after I started walking dogs in 2021, my family moved to Toronto to be closer to the rest of our family, and I immediately searched for a new dog walking job there. I was able to start my own client list very quickly! Happily, my family returned to North Vancouver in 2024, and I immediately started working for North Shore Dog Walkers, where I walked approximately 400 different dogs in two years. It was such a blessing to be able to work with so many breeds and personalities, and that experience quickly sharpened my abilities and management skills as a professional dog walker.
My services include group walks, private walks, and boarding (for other animals as well as dogs). My family is a big part of this business, and my wife (Shannon) and son (Jaden) assist in taking care and giving love to all dogs we board.
We also have our own dog, Ash, who is the light of our lives. Ash loves all other dogs and people, and loves having visitors. Sometimes Ash joins our walks, too!
Nomads Dog Walking and Pet Services is bonded, fully insured, and First Aid trained (Walks ‘n’ Wags). I use an Electric Vehicle for my walks; this helps to keep prices competitive, but also provides a perfect environment for your dog in every season as I can leave heat or air conditioning running safely while I’m out of the car. I take pride in returning dogs to their home clean and happy, and report any incidents to you immediately. I provide Canadian made treats (on approval) and use Canadian made supplies and equipment when possible.
